I’m Bex, I’m a friendly, bubbly and a bit loud person, but I am a good listener and always there is
anyone needs to talk.
I have been at WIM for just under 2 years and it really helped having somewhere to go. Now I’m
a facilitator I feel I’m helping by giving my time back to those who have helped me and new
members that need that help. I have suffered mental health issues since I was younger and I
have tried many things to help. With this knowledge I want to help out members to find new
ways of helping themselves in any way I can offer.
In my normal life I am a cleaner but I have had many jobs over the years. I have some unusual
hobbies that have helped boost my confidence and self love. I fire spin, perform burlesque and I
also perform in fire festivals. In my spare time I love to craft, spend time with friends and my
family and of course spend loads of time with my furry child too.

I am Pam Hastings and one of the facilitators at WIM.
I work as a Bank Manager and live with my dog Kaiser.
My hobbies include Yoga, crafting, DIY and socialising with my friends. I also like to follow Liverpool Football club and love to go and see them play.
Having suffered with my mental and physical health over the years I understand what others are going through and feel my life experience helps me offer support.

I'm a mum of 4 & a wife to an amazing man who is supportive & understanding. I have suffered with depression probably my whole life & never noticed the early warning signs which if I did may have prevented me from falling down the dark well & struggling to get back out. I joined wim as a member in October 2021 after seeing a fb post from a fundraising event they had done. I msged the fb page 4 info & planned to go along that Tuesday didn't go planned to go the following week couldn't face it again. The lovely Ali messaged me to ask how I was & if I still wanted to come so I put on my big girl pants I went along. The support & understanding I received that night made me open up & explain how I was feeling. It poured out of me like lava even though I had never felt able to tell anyone how I was feeling before. The group made me feel safe & after offloading I felt immediately lifted & that evening I slept properly all night which was the first time in such a long time. My mental health got very serious when I'd experienced feelings in my head of suicide feeling that my family would be better off without me & my husband could do better! Fast forward 3 years I'm in a very good place feeling of worth & confidence & still experience anxiety at times but I'm more self aware of the trigger & stress points which helps me to combat these thoughts & challenge them. I now help facilitate wim & absolutely love it. I get to still share & offload but also help offer advice, point ppl in the right direction for professional services if needed & see people who I was once like to flourish & nothing is a better feeling knowing you can help people in vulnerable times.
